Ætherbal’s patent-pending amphiphilic technology represents the culmination of years of research and development into a different approach to topical formulation. Amphiphilic systems have an affinity for both water and oil, allowing ingredients with very different properties to coexist within a more unified formulation. This principle is also found throughout nature, including within the phospholipid structures that form cellular membranes.

  • Ætherbal’s amphiphilic system brings water-based and oil-based components together within a stable emulsion. This allows us to formulate botanical extracts, essential oils, botanical oils, minerals, and other diverse ingredients within one cohesive topical system.

  • The carefully balanced relationship between the water and oil phases creates a nourishing topical with a lightweight feel that absorbs quickly and leaves the skin without the heavy, greasy finish common to many traditional balms and ointments.
