WHY THIS MATTERS
Most topicals are built around texture. Ours are built around transport.
Conventional creams, balms, and ointments often rely on waxes, oils, petroleum-heavy bases, isolated actives, or filler ingredients. They may feel nice on the skin, but they are often limited by the same problem: water-based compounds and oil-based compounds do not naturally want to stay together.
Ætherbal was created to solve that problem. Our base was designed to emulsify hydrophilic and lipophilic ingredients together — allowing herbs, essential oils, minerals, fulvic acid, hyaluronic acid, and orthosilicic acid to exist in a more unified topical system.
ORTHOSILICIC ACID
The forgotten structural mineral.
Silicon is found throughout the body — in connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, bones, tendons, fascia, blood vessels, and joints. It is closely associated with the body’s natural production and maintenance of collagen and elastin.
Orthosilicic acid is a water-soluble form of silicon. Unlike many forms of silica, orthosilicic acid is valued because it is more readily bioavailable. In our work, this became the foundation for a topical base unlike a traditional cream, oil, or balm.
We often describe silicon as a “forgotten macronutrient” because it plays such a foundational role in structure, elasticity, and tissue integrity, yet it is rarely discussed in everyday wellness.

Ætherbal’s patent-pending Silicon Plasma Hydrate™ is our proprietary orthosilicic acid delivery system. It exists as a unique liquid/gel-like base that behaves differently from conventional oil-heavy topical formulas.
This hydrated silicon system allows us to build formulas that feel light on the skin, absorb quickly, and carry a complex blend of botanical ingredients without leaving the heavy residue often associated with traditional ointments.
AMPHIPHILIC EMULSION
The key is carrying water and oil together.
Herbal formulas are complicated because plants contain many different kinds of compounds. Some are water-loving. Some are oil-loving. Some are aromatic. Some are resinous. A useful topical needs to account for all of them.
Our amphiphilic system uses fulvic acid and hyaluronic acid to help bring together hydrophilic orthosilicic acid and water with lipophilic fatty oils, resins, and essential oils.
This is one of the biggest differences between Ætherbal and a typical natural topical. We are not simply mixing herbs into a base. We are building a delivery environment around the chemistry of the formula.

We do not believe the plant should be reduced to one “active.”
Plants are not single chemicals. They are living systems made of resins, volatile oils, flavonoids, tannins, bitters, minerals, alkaloids, mucilage, pigments, and aromatic compounds.
Modern formulation often isolates one compound and leaves the rest behind. Ætherbal takes the opposite approach. We formulate with whole-plant extracts whenever possible because the intelligence of the plant is found in its complexity.
That is also why we avoid the “derived from” ingredient philosophy whenever possible. We want the plant itself — not a heavily processed echo of it.

Extraction
Many extracts are made in-house from certified organic plants using organic alcohol tincturing methods.
Alcohol Reduction
We use a rotary evaporator to remove alcohol from tinctures before they are incorporated into topical formulas.
Delivery Integration
The extracts are blended into Silicon Plasma Hydrate™ with oils, essential oils, minerals, and supporting ingredients.
